Caterpillar Design Project
During the 2019 summer, I had the opportunity to study abroad at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. I participated in a Caterpillar Design Project where my team re-designed the Power and Idler links as part of a mixed team with NCSU and Zhejiang University (Chinese) students. We updated the parts’ design to optimize their mechanical performances. We reduced the parts’ overall material weights by 40% without a reduction in part performance. Below are some pictures of our work and our team.
